Walk Braemar is a local company that offers guided walks in the Braemar and Royal Deeside area. Our team of expert guides come from diverse backgrounds and are passionate about sharing their local knowledge while ensuring you have a memorable experience. We believe that walking is the best way to discover the beauty of the area and our aim is to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience. The company was founded by Emma O'Shea an outdoor enthusiast who wanted to share her passion for walking with others. We offer a wide range of walks, from easy strolls to challenging hikes, and we cater to all ages and levels of fitness. The Walking Guides.
Emma and her team of senior guides are highly qualified and experienced to deliver a quality experience. During busy periods we work with a wider team to deliver our guiding services. All our guides have worked in the outdoors in Scotland for a number of years and are first aid trained and insured.

Emma O'Shea
Founder
Emma has been exploring Scotland's wilder places for over 30 years. Emma is incredibly passionate about sharing her knowledge of local flora, fauna, geology and history. She is an experienced outdoor first aider and has spent over 10 years as a volunteer in Scottish Mountain Rescue.

Gary Flynn
Senior Guide
Gary has spent a life-time in the outdoors and is a highly experienced Guide. Gary is a former Diver, Alpine and Scottish Ski Patroller, Helicopter Pilot and Royal Gamekeeper/Ghillie. Gary has a rich wealth of knowledge, he is a wilderness medic and a local mountain rescue volunteer.

Pete Lorainn-Smith
Senior Guide
Pete's love of the outdoors was cemented during a family holiday to the Lake District almost 50 years ago. Pete has recently retired from Police Scotland where he was the National Search and Rescue Coordinator. He is an enthusiastic guide with tremendous experience of Scotland's mountains.

Alex Smith
Senior Guide
Originally from nearby Aberdeen, Alex has lived in Braemar for over 30 years and has extensive knowledge of this part of Scotland. As well as guiding in the Summer, Alex is a full-time ski patroller at Glenshee Ski Centre. He is a qualified First Responder and a former member of Braemar Mountain Rescue.
